About London Wayfarers

London Wayfarers Hockey Club was founded in September 1989 in Battersea, South West London. Since our founding we have gone from strength to strength, and currently have a membership of around 250, fielding 14 sides (7 men's, 7 ladies) every Saturday. In January 2010 we introduced a Junior section and this now boasts a membership of 140 and regularly fields 7 teams.

What level of hockey do we play?
All sections of the club enjoy a high standard of training with qualified coaches running all sessions.

The standard of hockey we play varies widely throughout the club, with a very high standard being demonstrated by our ladies' and men's 1st and 2nd XIs, ranging to a merely good level further down the club.

The Men's 1st XI play in South League 1st Division. The other men's teams compete in the Higgins Group London league.
The Women's 1st XI side plays in the South Clubs' Women's Hockey League, the other teams compete in the Surrey Ladies League.
Junior teams play friendlies on Sundays.

Club Ethos
Wayfarers as a club likes to put emphasis on both the sporting and social aspects of hockey, playing hard both on and off the pitch. Most Saturday evenings plenty of Wayfs can be found in our clubhouse The Latchmere.
