Sometimes it is just easier to have everything in one place. Below you will find all you need to know about the junior section and where to find more information if you need to.

The Junior section was established in January 2010 to encourage the development of hockey in boys and girls. It now boasts a membership of more than 800 young people and goes from strength to strength each year. London Wayfarers Hockey Club has an inclusive ethos and we aim to enable everyone to enjoy their sport, have fun, learn new skills and make new friends.

How to join

There are waiting lists but we do encourage you to register if your child is interested in playing hockey. For further information, visit our how to join – juniors page.  The Junior section takes children from Year 1, with small number of players in Reception (from existing Wayfarers families with a hockey experienced coach parent).

The hockey section is run by volunteers with only a couple of roles carried out by paid staff. As a member of the club, we hope that you will embrace the club’s ethos by donating your time and skills to help our children enjoy the best possible sporting experience. Some of our parents are more comfortable on pitch, helping coach the tiddlers, while others prefer to get involved off pitch – from helping with the newsletters to baking cakes for hockey events. It’s up to you! Find out more on the volunteering page.
