A report from Ladies 5s’ captain and former Ladies’ Section Vice-Captain Tessa Penwarden, who played her last game for London Wayfarers over the weekend as she heads to Australia. Good luck, Tessa!

The Ladies 5s braved the gale force winds at Crystal Palace. We got the lead early through some lovely attacking teamwork from Lucy Strong and Meghan Fearn and went into half time 1-0 up.

We knew Barnes wouldn’t take kindly to this and they came back fighting – 2-1 to Barnes.

The elements were on our side and with the help of a banner flying across the pitch and taking out one of their key players we rallied and with 1 minute to go we found ourself on the counter, Meghan ran the length of the pitch and earned us a short corner.

This was our time. A great injection from Milly Marshall-Stochmal to set me up from the left and wham bam thank you mam we drew with one of our great rivals. 2-2.

Thanks to all our coaches & fans, glad we could do you proud ????????????????
